Piping Legends Past and Present
The definitive pipe music programme, featuring news and recordings from the piping world.
Gary West introduces music from the international piping scene, including sets from masters of their arts such as soloists Dr Angus MacDonald and Donald MacPherson, and the top pipe bands from three decades ago, the Strathclyde Police and Polkemmet Grorud. There’s dance music too from Brittany and Galicia and from the old hard shoe Scottish step dance tradition courtesy of the quartet, Seudan. Staying in the highlands, Eddie Seaman invites us to step into the Cave of Gold, while Gary also pays tribute to a leading light of piping on the west coast of the USA, Skye Richendrfer, who sadly passed away this week.
