With coronavirus cases still rising and the global vaccine rollout in its infancy, can the aviation industry survive further headwinds?
2020 was the year that the aviation industry went from flying high to not flying at all. In a few short months, the industry went from needing half a million new pilots to making mass redundancies. On average airlines lost $230m a day last year, and as a result, many smaller players were forced out of business. 2021 was supposed to be the year the business of air travel got its mojo back, but with the number of cases still rising and the global vaccine rollout in its infancy can the sector survive further headwinds?
