Perez Hilton, real name Mario Lavandeira, can lay claim to being the godfather of online gossip and scandal mongering. He created his showbiz gossip blog 16 years ago. He made a pile of money trashing reputations and inflicting misery on the famous. Now he says he's sorry but should we believe him?
