BBC Scotland's Children's Department secures major CBBC commission

A new series of game shows, hosted by Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes of TMi fame, has been commissioned for CBBC from the Children's Department in Scotland.

Copycats, comprising 52x28 minute programmes will be recorded in BBC Scotland's state-of-the-art Studio A at Pacific Quay, Glasgow, during May and June 2009.

Each show pits two families against each other in a variety of exciting and captivating tasks which test players' ability to pass on information.

Copycats will be the latest in a long line of series for network television from BBC Scotland's Children's Department, a key supplier to CBBC.

Among BBC Scotland's portfolio of successful children's productions are long-running fantasy challenge show, Raven, the satirical sketch show, Hedz, and game show, Get 100.

Copycats will be produced by Matthew Napier and Sue Morgan will be Executive Producer.

The series was commissioned by Anne Gilchrist, Controller CBBC.
