BBC Wales joined in the celebrations of Wales's Triple Crown victory in the RBS Six Nations championships on Saturday with a special one-off version of the BBC One Wales ident. The ident featured clips from the Ireland v Wales Triple Crown winning game, with a specially created version of the BBC One logo which morphed into the barrels of a fruit machine, with each barrel spinning and coming up with a crown. Screened over the weekend, the ident was created to help celebrate Wales's win over Ireland on Saturday, which sets up Warren Gatland's Wales team for a Grand Slam showdown with France in Cardiff next Saturday. And to celebrate next weekend's game, which will be screened live on BBC Wales TV, radio and online, the BBC Wales promotions team have prepared a special promo with the stars of the current promo campaign from Aberpandy RFC, recreating a number of classic comedy moments. Viewers watching the promo, which runs up to the game on Saturday, will see the team coach Denzil thrashing a vehicle in the car park in full Basil Fawlty car-thrashing mode, the barmaid emulating the classic Morecambe and Wise breakfast sketch with some lemons and the young lad Hugh taking a Del Boy like fall through the bar. The Wales v France Six Nations Grand Slam decider will be screened live on BBC One Wales on Saturday 15 March from 4.50pm in Six Nations - Wales v France. It will also be live on BBC Wales on S4C in Y Clwb Rygbi Rhyngwladol, plus build-up and full live coverage of the game on BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru. NP |
