Chappers and Comedy Dave take to the road BBC Radio 1 is gearing up to support Sport Relief as Chappers and Comedy Dave take to the road to run a mile at every Premier League and Scottish Premier League club in aid of the charity. Starting on Friday 7 March 2008, the boys will be working their way round the country before ending up in London for a spectacular finale ahead of the Sport Relief TV show on 14 March. Comedy Dave's co-host, Chris Moyles, will be following their progress each morning on the breakfast show (weekdays, 6.30-10.00am) and will be joining Chappers and Dave in London to run a mile with them at each London club, along with some very special guests. Listeners to the station can donate money to the challenge at bbc.co.uk/radio1. Each morning, Chris will tell the boys where they will be running the next day. Although Chappers and Comedy Dave know what the challenge is, they have no idea where they will be running, and when. By the end of the week, they will have run over 30 miles each. Chris will also be making things more complicated for them by introducing forfeits – he will let Comedy Dave and Chappers know what these will be in their daily chats live on the breakfast show. Comedy Dave says: "We get to spend a week on the road, having a laugh, meeting some top people and collecting money for a very good cause. "With the exception of the running bit, I think it will be great." Chappers adds: "Two years ago Sport Relief changed my views on life in general by taking me to India. I have never seen such deprivation in my life – no one on Earth should have to live like this. "Any amount you can spare will help projects both in this country and abroad. With your help, we can give them hope for the future." Dave Vitty (Comedy Dave) co-presents the Chris Moyles Show (weekdays, 6.30-10.00am) and Mark Chapman (Chappers) co-hosts with Scott Mills (weekdays, 4.00-7.00pm) on BBC Radio 1. Radio 1 Publicity |
