Eamonn Holmes interviews Gordon Brown for 5 Live

  • The Eamonn Holmes Show, Saturday 9 February 2008, 9.00-11.00am

Prime Minister Gordon Brown MP is Eamonn Holmes' guest on his BBC Radio 5 Live show this Saturday.

The pre-recorded interview will cover the Prime Minister's sporting memories and heroes; his sporting interests past and present; and his opinions on the big sporting events including British football, the Six Nations and the forthcoming Olympics.

A keen supporter of Raith Rovers from his childhood, Gordon Brown used to earn his pocket money by selling programmes for the team. He was also a keen rugby player and it was whilst playing at school that he injured his retina.

Eamonn Holmes said: "Gordon Brown is a sportsman through and through. I think a lot of listeners will be surprised just how passionate he is about a wide range of sport."

The Eamonn Holmes Show is produced by Bite Yer Legs and Director Isobel Williams said: "We're delighted that the Prime Minister has chosen Eamonn's show as the appropriate place to reveal his sporting passions."

Listen to 5 Live via digital radio, digital television, online at bbc.co.uk/5live, and on 909 & 693 MW.
