Norfolk's Jon Tickle is up for eviction from the Big Brother house for the third week running, alongside Sissy and Federico. On Wednesday Big Brother announced to the housemates that they had failed their third weekly task. Norfolk's Jon Tickle made two mistakes and housemates Steph, Nush and Tania all made one mistake each. The housemates now have only £33.55 between them for their weekly shopping. Tensions had been running high in the house as the housemates struggled to get to grips with their latest challenge, which involved working together to memorise a mystery piece of music. The music was later revealed to be An English Country Garden. The piece, which had to be memorised in just days, had 94 notes and had to be performed on a set of hand bells. To make things harder, the musical tune had to be learnt using hand-bells without any clappers in them. Viewers will have seen tense scenes in which Jon argued for the need to nominate a conductor to help them learn the tune. Avenue Middle School in Norwich where Jon was a pupil |
Jon, who studied the oboe at Avenue Middle School in Norwich was a regular participant in the school's orchestra. Deputy Head and music co-ordinator Christine Jennings, was Jon's former music teacher. She said his musical background would have given him a head start in completing the task. "I'm sure he'll cope with the musical task very well. He's very determined, there's strength of character there so he'll see it through to the end," she said. "If you've got some musical knowledge I think it's fairly straight forward - difficult but achievable. But if you haven't got any musical knowledge or skills, jolly tough," she added. I remember him as a very lively member of the school orchestra with his oboe.

Christine Jennings said she believes Jon will cope with failing the task and is taking the nominations in his stride. "I think he'll keep it in perspective. I don't think it'll be a huge problem for him. I can't see any reason why he won't make it through to the end. He's got the initiative, common sense and determination!" Despite Jon being nominated for the third week running, Sissy is the bookies' favourite to go. Do you think Jon will win Big Brother and put Norwich on the map? Have your say on our message board |
