Double wish! Boy meets Princess of Wales and appears on Newsround

A 10-year-old boy who got to meet Catherine, the Princess of Wales, had another wish to make his dreams come true... to also make an appearance on Newsround!

Ejran met the princess when she visited Evelina Children's hospital, in London, on Monday, where he is being treated for a heart condition.

Afterwards he said he would love it if the meeting got featured on Newsround, so we sent our very own Ricky to make it happen!

Ricky went to meet Ejran at the hospital and was able to personally pass on a message from Catherine, Princess of Wales.

Being on Newsround was a big ambition of Ejran's - so it's been a busy few days for him!

Ejran has a long term heart condition that means he has to have regular appointments at the children's hospital.

The princess was visiting the hospital on Monday in her role as patron, and she met children and families in the hospital's new cardiac - or heart - unit.

She chatted to Ejran about what it was like at the hospital and they talked about how much they both like Shrek.

Ejran told the princess he had written a poem, too.

After the meeting, Daily Mail reporter Rebecca English sent Ejran a video of the encounter and he told her he would love for it to be featured on BBC Newsround.

So, Newsround presenter Ricky Boleto visited Ejran and bought a special message from the princess, Kensington Palace said: "The princess was delighted to meet Ejran and looks forward to being updated on his progress."

Ejran told Ricky how much he misses his friends at school when he's in hospital, and hopes they can now watch him on the programme in class.
