Footage of the brawl posted on social media appeared to show a fight breaking out inside a stand at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey.
Officers were called to the incident shortly before 18:00 BST on Saturday.
The six people were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and affray and were released pending further investigation, police said.
A spokesperson for Epsom Downs Racecourse, which is owned by The Jockey Club, said: "Our security teams and police on site responded quickly to an incident on Saturday.
"This matter is now being dealt with by Surrey Police so it would not be appropriate to comment further, other than to say that this sort of behaviour has no place at our racecourse."
A crowd of 28,500 attended the event on Saturday.
King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended the Epsom Derby, where they presented the trophy to winning trainer Aidan O'Brien, jockey Ronan Whelan and owners Coolmore.
In 2025, police made four arrests during the two-day event, while 10 people were arrested the year before.
