Crá first-look images released for second series of Irish Language crime drama
Dónall Ó Héalaí returns for series two, coming to BBC iPlayer this autumn

BBC Gaeilge has released images from Crá series two which sees Dónall Ó Héalaí (Hidden Assets, The Punisher) reprise his role as Garda Conall Ó Súilleabháin.
Conall, now a trainee detective has moved to Letterkenny and under the mentorship of Detective Aoife Cooney played by Siobhán O’Kelly (Mix Tape), faces new cases, loyalties and conflicts.
Meanwhile, a murder investigation brings Conall and Aoife back to Carraignanaul, the hometown he is trying to escape. Conall reconnects with old friend, Sergeant Barry Roche played by Alex Murphy (The Young Offenders), but remains tormented by one question, what really happened to his father Art?


Returning cast includes Hannah Brady (Soulma8e) as Ciara-Kate, Colm Mac Giolla Easbuic (Ros na Rún) as Iarla and Barry McGovern (Obituary) as Art.
Joining the cast for series two are Lochlann Ó Mearáin (Mr Loverman, The Head), Art Parkinson (Aontas, Say Nothing), Aoife Nic Ardghail (Casual), Seán Duggan (House of Guinness) and Tony Devlin (Say Nothing).
The award winning first series sold to 68 countries under the international title Boglands. Crá was the first Irish Language crime drama to air on BBC One Northern Ireland, BBC iPlayer and BBC Four.


Series two filmed in Gaoth Dobhair, County Donegal is produced by Fíbín Media and Fíbín Films NI for BBC Gaeilge and TG4 with support from Screen Ireland, Northern Ireland Screen’s Irish Language Broadcast Fund, Coimisiún na Meán and distributors About Premium Content (APC).
The producers are Ciarán Charles and Darach Ó Tuairisg for Fíbín Media and Méabh Nic Alastair for Fíbín Films NI.

Writers on the new series are Richie Conroy (Crá series one, Leonard and Hungry Paul), Sarah Gordon and Damian McCann (Aontas) and Noel McCann (Blue Lights) and Philip Doherty (Crá series one Director), with new cast member Aoife Nic Ardghail also joining the writing team.
