Speaking on BBC Radio Manchester this morning, David Threlfall said that, as an ambassador for the charity, he’d been particularly moved by the plight of 10 million children thought to be in danger. “Forty per cent of the population are children and they need help like yesterday. “For instance, rehydration sachets, the sort of thing we take for granted, only cost 2p a packet. I’ve seen people walk literally miles to get that basic help. And that’s the kind of thing that’s needed.” “They need money, that’s the easiest thing. £10 will buy a tarpaulin they can sit under tonight for temporary shelter; £85 can help them set up a health camp.” The cast of Shameless were in St Ann’s Square on Thursday 09 August.
