Jordan Thompson is positive North End will adapt to Graham Alexander's style soon and hopes the Lilywhites can put their slow start behind them.
Preston were edged-out 1-0 by Millwall late on last Saturday before a 4-0 drubbing at Birmingham on Tuesday. They are bottom of the Championship with four points from 10 games - their worst start in over a century.
"(Tuesday) was a really frustrating result for us. I don't think we got the press right at times. There were a few things that went wrong," Thompson told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"We talked about the game between ourselves, we're all disappointed, it wasn't good enough (but) we have another game in a couple of days to put it right."
They head to Wrexham on Saturday (15:00 BST) and the Northern Ireland midfielder added: "In football you go through these periods through the season, ours has come at the start of the season which is frustrating but football changes very quickly.
"We have another game, we're looking forward to it.
"There's a lot of quality in our group. We have to take responsibility as players and individuals and really push forward. It's frustrating at times but hopefully we can change it very quickly."
The 29-year-old - who has skippered the side in the past four matches - urged Preston fans to stick with their the players, adding: "Ultimately we have to give them something to cheer about so it's down to us to change it, but the fans being with us can only help going forward."
He added: "It definitely will come. The gaffer has only been in a short period, he's still trying to get his ideas across, he wants us to be aggressive and on the front foot, maybe (on Tuesday) we got that wrong at times.
"There's been change, the training and the shape we're playing. There's things we need to improve on and that will definitely happen over a period of time."

Hayen: 'The confidence is coming'
Burnley will be without Anel Ahmedhodzic for Friday night's Championship match at home to Wolves (20:00 BST).
The defender was forced off late in Tuesday's draw with Charlton and head coach Nicky Hayen has revealed he will be absent for nearly a fortnight.
"He has a concussion so will be out for the protocol which is 12 days," Hayen told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"It's another disappointment but we have to accept it and be ready for the game."
Burnley are still looking for their first home win of the season in the Championship after Charlton scored a 96th-minute equaliser on Tuesday and Hayen is confident they can fill the hole left by Ahmedhodzic.
"Now it's for other players to take their chance - we have the options with Max (Alleyne) and Hjalmar (Ekdal) so we have to make the best choice," he said.
"Every manager wants consistency in his team but when we find a team or make one different change you have another injury and you have to look for the best selection possible."
Former Scotland international Gilks moves to the Latics having held the same position at Accrington Stanley.
The 44-year-old, who made 527 professional appearances over a 21-year playing career, has also worked as a goalkeeper coach at Bolton Wanderers and Barnsley.
"It's a really difficult situation for this to happen and have to replace someone, and the way it's happened, but Gillo is someone I've known for a while and through Scotland camps," boss Gary Caldwell told the club website., external

Preston North End right-back Harry Clarke will be "out for a while" with a knee issue but the lay-off is expected to be short term, boss Graham Alexander has confirmed.
The 25-year-old missed the match against Birmingham on Tuesday after being taken off at half-time during the game against Millwall at the weekend.
"Unfortunately, he's damaged his knee on his landing, hyper-extended it," Alexander told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"He's in a brace at the moment and he will be out for a little while. It's disappointing."
Striker Johnny Kenny, meanwhile, is yet to train but Alexander is hopeful he can return to the pitch on Friday, though it will be too soon to feature against Wrexham on Saturday (15:00 BST).
Midfielder Liam Gibbs has also been ruled out after being taken off during Tuesday's 4-0 loss to Blues in the 24th minute.
Alexander added: "He's been for a scan so we are waiting for confirmation on that but it's a muscle injury. Fingers crossed he's not too bad but we don't know the full extent yet."
A player who is in training is right-back Brad Potts, who not yet made an appearance this season and only made 16 in the Championship in 2025-26.
The 32-year-old did feature in an under-21s game on Friday but Alexander is wary of rushing him back into the first team.
"We asked him on Monday if he wanted to play in that under-21s game and he took that opportunity," Alexander said.
"We will see how he is again on Friday and keep assessing it but we need to understand where he is fitness-wise. When a player does come back, you want him back for good."
