 Your band name? Karl Eland
Where are you from? Preston
Who plays what? I am a singer/songwriter who plays acoustic and electric guitar and vocals
Anyone got any bad habits? I watch too much reality television. What's the band's history so far? I have been writing songs for about 5 years and last year I released my debut single - Radio Song, which I sold at HMV in Preston. I was then interviewed and had airplay on the Ted Robbins show on Radio Lancashire, and received a bit of press interest. Although I tend to record my songs with a full band of session musicians I usually play gigs on my own as an acoustic performer.
Style and influences? I would probably best describe my music as acoustic/rock. I am influenced mainly by American singer/songwriters such as Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and Tom Petty, although I do also enjoy more contemporary British acts such as U2, David Grey and Oasis.
Best moment so far? Definitely seeing my single on the shelves.
Worst/most embarrassing moment so far? I got on stage one time and completely forgot the first line of the first song I was about to sing - and then it just popped in there - eventually.
What's your favourite song? Or which song do you wish you'd written? I wish I had written Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen or Blood on Blood by Bon Jovi
Anything else we should all know about? I have a websitel - www.karleland.co.uk
