The Jersey Green Room Club's 99th Christmas Show opens at the Jersey Opera House on Saturday 22 December.

It's the traditional family pantomime "Dick Whittington", which has been specially written for the Club by Denzil Dudley. Packed with local jokes, island references and the best songs, it promises to be a treat for the whole family.

Matthew Price - who's appeared in two previous Green Room Club Pantomimes is directing the show, assisted by Choreographers Annette Perkins and Agnetta Pinel.
Roger Bara returns as Musical Director, accompanied by the "Roger Bara Band".

Pantomime Dame 'Sarah Sloppit' is played by veteran club member NIGEL GATES, who's clocking up his 27th panto.

SIMON THOMAS returns as the 'baddie' King Rat. CHRISTA ROBERTS plays Dick Whittington after appearing as Aladdin last year. "The Beauteous Alice Fitzwarren - whose loveliness leaves no heart un-stirred" is performed by LORA OSMAND. CHARISE RENOUF is "Fairy Nuff" and JAY HUTCHINSON is Watt, Alderman Fitzwarren's lazy apprentice.

A cast of more than fifty actors, singers and dancers are rehearsing hard ahead of the opening night. There's a special preview show at the Opera House - for some of the island's under-privileged children on Thursday 20th December.

The show runs until 5 January 2008 and tickets are available from the Opera House Box Office on 511115.

Dick Whittington is the club's fastest-selling pantomime in it's 99 year history. Last week islander's bought more than £10,000 worth of tickets and this week, some of the more popular matinee shows have all but sold-out.
