Why am I being told to update BBC iPlayer on my Google TV?

We are aware that some users are being advised to update the BBC iPlayer app on their Google TVs.

This message will appear if you are using an old version of the app:

To continue using the BBC iPlayer app on these devices after 12 November, please update the app from the Google Play Store on your TV.
