Day 2: Featuring Women's 800m Heats

Keely Hodgkinson begins the defence of her European title as the women’s 800 metres gets underway with the qualifying rounds. The Netherlands' Femke Bol and the fastest woman in the world this year, Audrey Werro of Switzerland, are also in action and will provide a tough challenge for Great Britain’s Olympic gold medallist. Qualifying for tonight’s men’s 100 metre final is also on the track on Day 2 of the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.

Jessica Ennis-Hill and Greg Rutherford are in the studio to provide some expert analysis alongside Jeanette Kwakye. Steve Cram, Steve Backley, Andrew Cotter, Colin Jackson and Paula Radcliffe are in the commentary box.
