Presenter Profiles Terry Walsh
| | BBC Radio Stoke presenter Terry Walsh |
| | Terry Walsh is our Jack of All Trades. But although he presents, produces and works for TV, one time you will always hear him is Sunday afternoons talking about the "Good Times" See pictures of Terry out and about |
| | When Terry arrived in Stoke on Trent, there were still coal mines, steel works, double-decker busses, two-way streets in Hanley and a distinct lack of places to eat breakfast if you were on early shift! How things have changed!!
Without doubt, North Staffordshire is his home - having now lived here longer than the city of his birth - Nottingham. Since arriving at BBC Radio Stoke in 1974, he's probably had a go at every job (except the boss's!) and presented every programme!
He's also seen many faces come and go (Bruno Brookes & Anthea Turner to name just two). He himself left for ten years. First working on such BBC TV programmes as The Generation Game, Jim'll Fix It and Blankety Blank. Then Directing TV coverage of World Championship motor Sport, Hang Gliding, Windsurfing, Golf and even Cricket - taking him to every continent in the world.
Away from work, Terry loves his sport. He scuba dives and plays Squash. However, if there’s one place he spends more than anywhere else - its his garden.
He does have one remaining broadcasting ambition – to lock colleague Den Siegertsz in the cupboard until he agrees to have his hair bleached and cut mohican style.
