Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom is the latest Halloween film starring Shaun and the flock from Mossy Bottom Farm.
In Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, the flock are getting ready to celebrate Halloween, but things don't go exactly to plan. After the Farmer accidentally destroys Shaun's pumpkins, Shaun turns to science to solve the problem. But his experiment has unexpected consequences, and before long a wild beast is roaming the woods. Shaun must find a way to stop the chaos and help save the flock before Halloween is ruined.
Who are Aardman Animations?
Aardman is an award-winning animation studio famous for creating much-loved TV shows and films including Shaun the Sheep, Wallace and Gromit, Timmy Time and Chicken Run. The studio is known for its stop-motion animation, where models are moved and photographed frame by frame to create the illusion of movement.
How is Shaun the Sheep made?
Shaun the Sheep is made using a technique called stop-motion animation. Animators carefully move the characters a tiny amount between each photograph. When all the images are played back in sequence, the characters appear to move. It can take a whole day to create just a few seconds of finished animation, making it a highly skilled and detailed process.
Notice how the characters move in this gif? This is stop motion in action, splitting the character's movement into specific and key moments to help blend it seamlessly into the film!
