To the parent or guardian:

Your child would like to apply to take part in Judge Hacker, a mock courtroom show on CBBC. The show will initially be transmitted by the BBC and available on catch-up/on demand services. If selected for the final programme, your child would be required to participate.

The application process:

For the application to be considered, you need to provide the completed application form, with parental consent, photograph and video of your child and their “accusation”. The application window for the Programme will open and close at the Company’s sole discretion.

Please note:

  • Involvement in the programme will be subject to DLT Entertainment gaining the necessary licences for filming.

  • For the application to be considered, your child must be no less than 6 years old and no more than 14 years old on 1st July 2026.

  • Your child must be available for 1 days’ filming between Monday 8th June and Friday 12th June 2026. These dates may be subject to change.

  • You must be prepared and available to travel to our studio in the Greater London area and potentially stay overnight. Reasonable costs will be covered for any necessary travel and accommodation, subject to prior agreement and by arrangement by production and at their sole discretion.

  • We reserve the right to change the criteria for applying at any time.

  • Parents/guardians of all successful applicants will be required to enter into a contributor release form on their behalf, further detailing the terms of their participation in the programme.

  • If casting or filming takes place on a school day your child will need the permission of their school to attend. We are not responsible if your school refuses permission.

Further application Terms and Conditions for a proposed programme:

  • Your child must not be in breach of any contract by appearing (or by applying to appear) in the Programme.

  • Your child must be legally authorised to live and participate in the Programme in the United Kingdom.

  • Your child is not eligible to apply to appear in the Programme if you/they are an employee or a close relation of an employee of the BBC or DLT Entertainment Limited (the “Company”/ “we”/ “us”).

  • All production decisions are at the sole discretion of the Company's production team.

  • By submitting any videos, photographs, songs, pictures, text messages and/or any other material with the application, as outlined above (together the “Material”) you/your child herby grant us and BBC or DLT Entertainment Limited the right to feature the Material in the Programme and/or within marketing materials for the Programme and make such use thereof as we require within the Programme and/ or the marketing materials and to exploit and exhibit the same in all media now known or hereafter devised worldwide in perpetuity as we may require without restrictions or payment whatsoever. You/your child agree to waive any moral rights that may exist in relation to the Material. You/your child warrant and represent that the rights granted to us above reside solely with you/them and that no further consents are necessary.

  • You/your child will not share, pass, circulate, publish or otherwise put out any information (including without limitation on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or other social media platforms) relating to the Company, the Programme or participation in the casting process.

  • You/your child shall not be entitled to injunct the exploitation of the Programme and any legal remedy you/your child may have shall lie in an action at law for damages only.

  • The Company is not liable to refund any costs or expenses incurred by you/your child in making an application to participate in the Programme unless otherwise agreed by the Company.

  • You/your child understand that, even if they are selected as a contributor, the Company has no obligation to produce the Programme and if the Programme is made there will be no obligation on the Company or the BBC to broadcast it.

  • All decisions by the Company concerning selection of the contributors are final and you/your child agree not to challenge or appeal against those decisions.

  • You/your child accept that by completing an application to appear in the Programme and/or by receiving a phone call or video call and/or other correspondence from a member of the Programme production team and/or being shortlisted DOES NOT mean that they will be appearing on the Programme and the Company reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to stand your child down at any time, even if you/they have been given a date to attend recordings.

  • If selected to appear in the Programme, your child’s appearance is conditional upon satisfactory completion of the Company’s medical, background, and suitability checks and such other checks and evaluations as required by the Company (and you/your child will be required to provide the Company with all required information and documents in order to conduct such checks / evaluations).

  • If any of the information given to the Company during the application process is found to be false (or the Company reasonably believes that you have knowingly supplied inaccurate, misleading or false information) the Company will be entitled in its sole discretion to exclude your child from the selection process and/or your child may be immediately disqualified from taking part in the Programme.

  • These application terms and conditions will be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. 

If you/your child do not consent to or cannot comply with any of the above criteria, please do not submit this form. By submitting the application you confirm that you/your child accept and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

By necessity we will process the personal data provided by you and your child as part of the casting process for the programme to assess whether your child is a suitable contributor to the show and, if successful, as part of the production process for the programme. Both you and your child’s details will be held securely. All unsuccessful applications will be destroyed within 2 years of receipt and the details of successful applicants will not be kept for longer than is necessary.
