Musical instrument families

There are lots of musical instruments that make many different noises.

There are five musical instrument families.

  • String instruments, such as a guitar.
  • Wind instruments, such as a flute.
  • Percussion, such as a drum.
  • Brass instruments, such as a trumpet.
  • Keyboard. For example, a piano.
