More than 100 artists from Twyford, Wargrave and Henley have teamed up to stage the 2009 Henley Arts Trail, which takes place on the May Bank Holiday weekend (Saturday 23 May to Monday 25 May 2009).

Established and up-and-coming artists will display a wide variety of art at 20 homes and art venues in Henley and surrounding villages.

The Henley Arts Trail runs from Bix to Twyford via Shiplake, Henley, Wargrave and Waltham St Lawrence.

Entry to all venues is free. Art on display will include paintings and drawings, jewellery, wood, textiles, ceramics, glass, sculptures, and photography.

A mixture of venues includes galleries, village halls, a manor house, a museum, and artists' home studios.

Henley Arts Trail organiser Terri Jones, who lives in Twyford, said: "The event itself is just fantastic both for the artists and the people who come to visit us.

"We have a wealth of artistic talent in this area and with our Arts Trail we are making this available to the public.

"The Trail includes artists at all stages of their careers – established artists with high profiles as well as up-and-coming artists – so we have artworks to suit every budget for those who want to buy."

The Henley Arts Trail is raising money for the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust via donations from visitors and the profits on sales of refreshments at venues.

This is the Henley Arts Trail's fourth year and will be the biggest Arts Trail so far in terms of numbers of venues and artists taking part. Approximately 3,000 people visited the 2008 Henley Arts Trail.

All 20 venues are open from 11am to 4pm on all three days – and in many cases longer, with some venues open for three weeks from 2 May 2009.

Look out for the Henley Arts Trail signs on roadsides and coloured bunting outside each venue.
