If you like creative writing as well as creative reading, analyse a paragraph or two from one of your favourite novels and try writing in that style. How are the sentences constructed and what's the effect?
Lend or buy a friend three books you've picked from the top 100 - something short and accessible, a substantial book on a theme they'll care about and something powerful.
Put a favourite Big Read book in a plain brown wrapper and lend it to a friend who you think will enjoy it. Put in a letter explaining why you chose it for them. If they're read it before they can always read it again.
