Connecting with the BBC
Connecting with the BBC Scotland commissioning team
The commissioning teams accept ideas and proposals from production companies so creative people should reach out to producers in the first instance to help shape and represent their ideas.
However we know that’s not always easy and there’s talent out there and desperate to connect and there are other ways you might want to approach the BBC.
WRITERS
We’re always on the hunt for new drama writing talent so have a look at how you can work with BBC Writersroom here.
Please note commissioners do not read unsolicited scripts or books.
COMEDY TALENT
We’d love to hear from funny people. If you have some sketches or some showcase work; or even if you have a lo-fi example of being funny then we’d love to hear from you. Ideally we’d prefer you to connect with a new or established production company of any shape or size and get them to send your funny to us, but do take a look at the Digital Comedy briefs which advises on what we are looking for and how you can submit content or ideas to us.
You can see some examples of Short Stuff here to give you a sense of the type of content.
Alternatively comedy talent can engage with the BBC via our “Voices” opportunities. More information here.
If you’re a bit more established and have some producer relationships already, consider the more advanced short form comedy development opportunities here.
CREW
